Help Against Mesmer Skills - Guild Wars Forums

Hi there...

I have just started playing GW and have to say that I think it's great.

Can anybody recommend what the best defence would be against Mesmer attacks like Phantasm?

Remove Hex or a life regen that is better than 5>>
Or you can cast spells against the mesmer that will make him not want, or unable to cast such spells.

I should add that I'm a Mes/Nec...which means that I *should* know .... I just didn't want to admit it...

I'll rephrase my question a bit more honestly...

Okay so as a Mes/Nec are there any good skills to counteract a Mesmer based attack...

Backfire works on anyone who casts a spell. Any of the energy draining skills will limit what they can do. Be creative.

Best defense against a mesmer is adrenal skills. Big guys with swords eat them up pretty good, Empathy is a losing prospect.

Wanna shut down a mesmer? Make a mesmer/ranger combo and that is what they are all about. Like stated above, backfire is a great way to keep that opposing mesmer in check, but expect him to do the same to you. Also, make good use of the ranger poisons and such. If he is worrying about his health, he isn't too concerned with lowering someone elses.

Two words: Hex Breaker.

Shatter Hex and Arcane Thievery are worth looking at, too.
